Representatives of I-B IZ, Major Shepherd, Colonel
Beougher and Resheed ‘Youni.
o They explained the goal of the program, which is the development of Iraqi
economy and hiring Iraqis instead of foreign manpower in that Industrial
Zone.

Mr. Husam Al-Samouk, of Dar-il-Meda Institute
o He explained the role of Baghdad Stock Exchange in development of Iraqi
economy. The lecture was, as usual, hotly debated by the audience.

Mr. Yasir Al-Muttewelli, of Al-Sabah Daily:
o He touched on the sound basics for economic reform. He said that the
circumstances are adequate for a jump start in Iraqi economy and,
consequently, welfare of the people.

Mr. Abdul-Azeez Al- Hessoun, President of Iraqi Banks
Associations:
o He lectured on the role of banks in enhancing the development of an Iraqi
business class. The lecture was well received by B2B exhibitors.

Deputy Mayor of Amount Baghdad, Mr. Na’eem Abbaoob:
o He narrated the profiles of his office and called on contractors to bid on
tenders, especially for paving, etc. Mihsin Al-Atabi, the D.G. of Planning
and Follow-up, outlined the many accomplishments of Amanat Baghdad.

Iraq):
o This was about “Iraq First Initiative”

Lecture by oil export, Dr. Ayad Murad:
o The theme was the future of oil and energy in Iraq. He was optimistic,
particularly due to wide exploration activities.

Lecture by Mr. Ali Al-Fukeiki, UN Consultant:
o His lecture focused on industrial licensing in Iraqi investment process.
o He was joined by Mr.Basim Jemeel Antoun , the Vice President of Iraqi
Business Federation. He discussed the importance of industrial projects on
increase and diversification of production.

Dr. ‘Afeef Il-Rayes, M.O.I.M. consultant discoursed on
the partnership between the public and private sectors. The lecture was
interesting to privet sector representative by virtue of its promise laden
studies conducted by researches conducts by researchers at M.O.I.M

Mrs. Azza Khaleel Hammadi, of Golf Region Division,
Women’s program, illustrated the method of acquiring contracts. The lecture
was well received by exhibitors.

Lecture by representative of IACCI on their partnership
with Iraqi side and fruitful cooperation for Iraqi’s reconstruction.

Dr. Suhad Al- Qaisi of the Center for Strategic
Economical Studies, discussed “the methodology of support and development of
small enterprises in Iraq”

Demonstration of achievements of BIAP BC.

Mr. Rasheed Youni of I-B IZ continued yesterday’s
lecture on industrial zone at Camp Victory, Anocorda, Spicker, and Echo near
BIAP and the governorate.

Dr. Heyder Al Ibadi, an Iraqi Parliament member and
head of Economic Committee elaborated on investment law and facilitation for
development of Iraqi economy and creating job opportunities.

IRD’s representative focused on the organization’s
works of rehabilitation grants for small media enterprises and training
program for Baghdad DAC’s

Dr. Abdulla S. Al Beyyati focused on IACCI’s profile,
establishment, achieved goals and future goals of holding five commercials
exhibitions in Turkey, Istanbul, Erbil, Sulymania, and B2B in Baghdad.

Presentation by Mr. Ali Al-Hathaf of JCC-I/A (Gulf
Regional Division-GRD) at 11:00AM-12:00 PM: He elaborated on the method of
acquisition of MNF’s contracts through strict abidance by the correct
procedures and filling of the tendering forms. He highlighted the reasons
for rejection of the offers submitted by some contractors; these are due to
errors and omissions contrary to the regulations.

Presentation by Mr. Aswed Al-Minshidi, Iraqi Bar
Association’s president. He elaborated on the paramount importance of
abiding by the law and recourse to the law. He advocated consulting lawyers
in every transaction to avert swindling. Audience debated with the lecturers
on issues of corruption.

Presentation by Ja’fer Al-Hamdari, President of
Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce:

He discussed the Federation’s activity and its role in
economic participation, in spite of the impediments.

Presentation by lawyer Mahir Ali Hussein, Programs
Director at the Iraqi Judicial Institute. He touched on administrative
corruption and methods to eliminate it. The topic was hotly debated by the
audience.

Presentation by Mr. Qais Hemeed, of IACCIs ’initiative"
TADRIB: The topic focused on the importance of vocational/administrative
training and IACCI’s role at training thousands of Baghdad citizens wishing
to work with the private sector. They acquired internationally acknowledged
certificates in computers, administration and English. He stressed IACCI’s
keenness for striving to offer grants to the unemployed.
